Tina Knowles is opening up about her seemingly sudden marriage to actor Richard Lawson.
The 61-year-old married 68-year-old Lawson on April 12th in a lavish wedding aboard a yacht in California.
Tina tells People that Blue Ivy was the one who first brought up the idea of marriage during a vacation with Beyoncé and Jay Z last September.

‘Richard
said, ‘Oh, Blue, soon. Do you approve?’ And she said yes. That’s the
first time we talked seriously about getting married.’ Tina told the
publication.
Tina was divorced from Matthew Knowles in 2011 and tells People: ‘There was a time when I doubted if I would find love again.’
‘But I was
determined to be happy, and God sent somebody into my life,’ she said.
‘You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it.’
As for her wedding day? ‘It couldn’t have been more perfect,’ Tina said.
Tina explained that the all-white wedding has become a family tradition.
‘Beyonce
started it, and then Kelly and Solange had all-white weddings,’ she
said. ‘It’s just elegant, and white represents the purity of love.’
She has taken her new husband’s last name and says she hopes her romance inspires others.
